Funded through a University System of Georgia (USG) STEM Grant, the online summit coincides with <a href=\"http:\/\/completegeorgia.org\/momentum-year\">USG\u2019s Momentum Approach<\/a> to cultivate a productive academic mindset, which includes growth mindset, purpose and social belonging.<\/p>\n<p>GHC\u2019s School of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Division Chair Jayme Wheeler said the event will help participants better understand learning as a process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy attending the Motivation and Mindset Summit, faculty, staff and students should be able to learn how to implement strategies that they can use immediately in their classes, advising sessions and studies to improve learning,\u201d Wheeler said.<\/p>\n<p>The summit will feature workshops by Saundra McGuire, director emerita of the Center for Academic Success and retired assistant vice-chancellor and professor of chemistry at Louisiana State University.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.highlands.edu\/mindsummit\/mcguire-bio\/\">McGuire<\/a> has authored the books, \u201cTeach Students How to Learn\u201d for instructors and \u201cTeach Yourself How to Learn\u201d for students.
