{"id":6638,"date":"2017-10-12T13:19:35","date_gmt":"2017-10-12T17:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.highlands.edu\/?page_id=6638"},"modified":"2025-02-17T15:01:55","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T20:01:55","slug":"international-applicants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.highlands.edu\/how-do-i-apply\/international-applicants\/","title":{"rendered":"International Applicants"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><i>There are two distinct groups of international applicants that include students abroad who are interested in traveling to the U.S. on an F-1 student visa (including students who are already in the U.S. on an F-1 student visa currently studying at another U.S. school) and students in the U.S. who currently hold some other type of immigration status or attended school outside the US.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Steps to Enrollment:<\/h2>\n<p>Please note that these are general steps to enrollment and will be tailored to your situation, once your application is processed.\u00a0 Please allow 7-10 business days for your application to be processed.\u00a0 Once processed, you can follow your status on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.highlands.edu\/ghcbanner\/check-admissions-status\">Check Admission Status<\/a>.\u00a0 If you do not have a Social Security number, we can use your GHC ID# to log into your account.\u00a0 Please follow up with the Admissions Office at <a href=\"mailto:admitme@highlands.edu\">admitme@highlands.edu<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete <a href=\"https:\/\/apply.highlands.edu\">online application<\/a> and pay $30 non-refundable application processing fee.<\/li>\n<li>Submit transcripts:\n<ul>\n<li>If high school, college, university or technical school is outside the U.S., a credential evaluation is required.<\/li>\n<li>GHC accepts official evaluation reports from any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naces.org\/members\">NACES members<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/aice-eval.org\/endorsed-members\">AICE members<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you are applying for in-state tuition, submit <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.highlands.edu\/admissions\/verifying-lawful-presence\/\">Verification of Lawful Presence.<\/a> Please note that F-1 applicants do not qualify for in-state tuition.<\/li>\n<li>Prove English Language Proficiency. <b>English Language Proficiency <\/b>is required for students who are non-native speakers of English or who transfer from an institution of higher education outside the U.S. where English was not the language of instruction are required to show English language proficiency.
