{"id":7494,"date":"2018-06-21T14:23:34","date_gmt":"2018-06-21T18:23:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.highlands.edu\/?p=7494"},"modified":"2018-06-21T14:23:34","modified_gmt":"2018-06-21T18:23:34","slug":"ghc-advancement-team-brings-home-several-national-awards-collegiate-advertising-awards-educational-advertising-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.highlands.edu\/2018\/06\/21\/ghc-advancement-team-brings-home-several-national-awards-collegiate-advertising-awards-educational-advertising-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"GHC Advancement team brings home several national awards from Collegiate Advertising Awards and Educational Advertising Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Georgia Highlands College was honored with seven gold awards, two silver, and three bronze from two national award programs for work completed in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of the college by the Advancement Division.<\/p>\n<p>GHC was up against over 900 entries from across the U.S. in the Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>CAA awarded GHC the Gold Award (top 5 percent in the nation) for its \u201cBe a Take Charger\u201d billboard campaign, a series designed and implemented in cooperation with World Design Marketing (WDM). A second Gold Award was presented for a Photo Series based on GHC\u2019s Wyoming Field Course.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>GHC\/WDM were honored with a Silver Award (top 12 percent in the nation) for the \u201cBe a Take Charger\u201d internet advertising series. A second Silver Award was given for Promotional Graphics Series used on social media to promote the basketball season.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, GHC received a Bronze Award (top 16 percent in the nation) for its Highlander magazine.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>GHC was also a frontrunner in the 33<sup>rd<\/sup> annual Educational Advertising Awards (EAA), competing against nearly 2,500 entries from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>EAA awarded GHC and WDM the Gold Award for \u201cBe a Take Charger\u201d T-shirt design; implementing an integrated \u201cBe a Take Charger\u201d marketing campaign; and the \u201cBe a Take Charger\u201d billboard campaign.<\/p>\n<p>GHC was presented the Gold Award for social media for Charger Athletics promotions and another Gold Award for a special video production centering on the \u201cCharger Garden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GHC Highlander magazine received a Silver Award and Bronze, and an additional Bronze was awarded for a special video production centering on \u201cCharger Basketball \u2013 50 wins.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Georgia Highlands College Advancement team consists of:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Mary Transue \u2013 Vice President of Advancement<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sheila Jones and Nick Godfrey \u2013 Marketing &amp; Communications<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Jeff Brown and Justin Sucre \u2013 Digital Media<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ken Davis \u2013 Print &amp; Design Services<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Alison Lampkin \u2013 Alumni &amp; Special Events<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Cindy Gomez and Liz Jones \u2013 Executive Assistant &amp; Foundation Accountant<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>##<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) is an elite program recognizing higher education organizations for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of their schools.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>##<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Judges for the Educational Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Higher Education Marketing Report has been the nation\u2019s leading marketing publication for higher education marketing professionals, for thirty-four years; read by thousands of higher education marketing professionals.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>##<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PICTURE: A billboard example used as a part of the award-winning \u201cBe a Take Charger\u201d campaign at Georgia Highlands College which was recently recognized by Collegiate Advertising Awards and Educational Advertising Awards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Georgia Highlands College was honored with seven gold awards, two silver, and three bronze from two national award programs for work completed in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of the college by the Advancement Division.
