IT’S ALMOST VALENTINE’S DAY
Are you at all concerned about treating your beloved well next Sunday, potentially still under lockdown and at the very least still in a pandemic? Well, let the Chamber help you with some local ideas.
Will it be flowers? Markdale Flowers is my go-to for all things floral, both cut and potted. You can also find some floral loveliness at Markdale Foodland and, as of late, Highland Grounds.
Show ’em you care about their safety. Get their car in for seasonal maintenance at Allan’s Garage, Bernard’s Quality Cars, Colton’s Garage, or Hutchinson Automotive.
Activities? Grab a puzzle at P.J. Knickerbockers or Kimberley General Store.
Picking up dinner to cook or reheat? It’s time to look into Auberge Gilles, Barrhead Pub & Grill, Beaver Valley Ski Club, Fire & Ice, Justin’s Oven, Markdale Foodland, Rocklyn General Store, The Bicycle Café, The Market Shoppe, The Flying Chestnut, or Top o’ the Rock.
Want to cook from scratch? Think Highland Grounds, Red Maple Homestead, Markdale Foodland, Susan’s Delicatessen, or The Market Shoppe. And don’t forget a fresh, delicious loaf of bread from Brilliant Bread & Cheese (or a brownie; I highly recommend their brownies!).
Grab a lovely dessert from Highland Grounds, Kimberley General Store, Markdale Foodland, Rocklyn General Store, Susan’s Delicatessen, or Top o’ the Rock.
Thinking outside the box? How about something from Arts on Ten, Eco-Refillary, or Eugenia Candle Company?
The point is, there are a million ways to say I love you, and if you’re going to do it by buying something, please buy it locally. The Chamber’s Business Directory on our website can provide you contact information for all these Members, and more.
We’re already halfway full for our two upcoming Chamber Networking Sessions, Wednesday, February 17 in the evening and Saturday, February 20 in the morning. Attend one, or attend both, and use your four minutes to introduce yourself, your business, and your products or services to the rest of the group, and field questions.
We will gain benefit by weaving our community Members together and sharing our expertise about life and business. Many Members are suffering financially and their owners/operators are suffering personally. Together, through the new community hall called Zoom, we will pull together and only get stronger. We can strive to find solutions, and we will rebuild.
Don’t miss this opportunity for great gain at the expense of little time. Call or email the Chamber Office for the Zoom link.
Have you heard about LinkedIn Learning, a web platform offering video courses taught by industry experts? The Grey Highlands Public Library system has made access to LinkedIn Learning free to all Library members. There are 16,000 courses available in three streams: business, creative, and technology.
If you live in Grey Highlands and need a Library membership, please email or call your local branch.
