RAPID TESTS FOR COVID

Soon, the Chamber will be helping dispense rapid testing kits for COVID to local small and medium-sized businesses. Businesses will be required to sign up with the Chamber, and then will be eligible to receive two kits per employee per week by picking them up at our Office.

The tests are to be used only on individuals showing no symptoms. The majority of COVID cases have resulted from contact with asymptomatic carriers, so this is an incredible opportunity for our community. Employees can take the test and have results within 15 minutes, enabling us to catch this virus and stop it in its tracks.

We’re compiling a list of interested businesses so we can order an appropriate number of kits for the next few months. Please email the Office for more information or to put your business on the list to take part.

SHARE YOUR IDEAS

The Municipality is holding online sessions to get your ideas on the future of the Beaver Valley Corridor and of downtown Markdale. This is your opportunity to speak up and help direct the future of these areas, but you must sign up.

Visit greyhighlands.ca, then click the Business tab, then scroll down to the Beaver Valley Corridor Visioning Sessions and Downtown Markdale Visioning Sessions links.

BETTER INTERNET FOR ALL

We’ve applied for a grant through the Canadian Internet Registration Authority to fund a university student to develop our approach to ensure everyone in Grey Highlands has access to affordable, consistent high-speed internet (50 down/10 up).

We’ll be sure to let you know if our grant application is successful and how we intend to move forward.

BEAUTIFUL FUTURE

The Chamber hopes to be ready for the time when we can explore and enjoy our beautiful community. To do so, we’re working on a grant application to develop better tourism experiences.

STAY THE COURSE

Please continue to follow the health guidelines and stay at home as much as you can. Shop locally for essentials.

Aren’t sure if our community has what you need? Just ask! Email the Office, put a call out on Facebook, reach out to a neighbour. You might be pleasantly surprised.

GET ON THE LIST

Be sure to get your COVID vaccine when it’s made available to you. We can all do our part to keep each other safe and get to a new normal.
