Going forward, the Chamber Office will be staffed by volunteers intermittently, and phone and email messages will be monitored regularly, until the Board meets to discuss options for next steps.
Plans for an Award
Also at our next Board meeting, the executive will be asked to approve the Kate FitzPatrick Memorial Award. We will identify criteria for eligibility and selection, while setting a budget for give and keep plaques. We’ll also discuss creating a fundraising drive to create an annual bursary.
And the Winners Are…
The Santa Claus Parade in Markdale wouldn’t have been such a success without the parade sponsors. Be sure to check out The Advance ads in this issue for lists of sponsors and the winning floats. It certainly wouldn’t hurt if you found a reason this season to send some business their way. Ho ho ho!
The Municipality of Grey Highlands Council has approved a motion to have staff prepare an opportunity for citizens and the Chamber to provide input into a downtown revitalization plan. Watch in January 2020 as we share the event invitation.
Enjoy this festive season. The street decorations are up, shops are getting decked out, and our storekeepers anxiously await the opportunity to serve you. Please, shop locally, and help sustain our local economy.
