*** Cruise Night Returns *** Awards For Graduates *** Tourism Ambassadors ***

We are so excited that Cruise Night is returning to Markdale on Friday, July 22, thanks for our friends at Rotaract. Can’t wait for the gorgeous cars and trucks, live music, and Rotary BBQ. Some of the area stores will be open late as will be the restaurants, so please plan to make an evening of it. Those who’ve attended in previous years can attest to the community feel and positive vibe that permeates Cruise Night.

Each year, we support student awards at Beavercrest Community School, Osprey Central School, and Grey Highlands Secondary School.

This will be the third year the Kate FitzPatrick Memorial Award is given to the graduating Grey Highlands Secondary School student who exhibits a positive demeanor and contributes to encouraging a diverse school community.

We are grateful to share that Chamber Member Frank Courville of Courville Handyman Services has once again provided the $300 that will accompany the award plaque. Thank you, Mr. Courville.

We’ve in touch with several businesses in the Municipality to be our tourism ambassadors. They’ll keep stocked with a variety of brochures throughout the year, which we’ll supply, and we’ll work to advertise these tourism ambassador businesses to our potential tourists, near and far.

So far, we’ve got ambassadors “signed up” in Eugenia (Garage 13), Flesherton (Highland Grounds), Kimberley (Kimberley General Store, Sea & Ski Realty), and Rocklyn (Rocklyn General Store). We’ll be getting them a supply of brochures in the next week or so. Three more towns to go!
