For me, the present week is all about our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19, ensuring this crazy new way of holding meetings – online via Zoom – goes without a major hitch for our Members and the general public. Our AGM will actually have two parts. The first Zoom meeting, starting at 6:oopm, is the business meeting and it’s open to our Members only. Because of that, I’ve sent Members a private link to that meeting.

The second Zoom meeting, starting at 7:00pm, is open to the public. At this time, we’ll share with you the winners of our four citizen and business awards, and tell you more about the winner of our first Kate FitzPatrick Memorial Award. Following that, our MC and guest speaker, actor/author Geoff Bowes, will share his thoughts on shopping local. For a link to the public meeting, visit www. and scroll down to click the “LINK TO PUBLIC MEETING” button when it’s time for the meeting.

Well, with this being the first time we’ve had a reverse parade, it’s no doubt that things are changing. Please share this info with everyone you can… This week, we’d like to tell you that although the parade runs from 12pm to 3pm, we’d like to encourage attendees to arrive at the parade as follows, as much as they are able: last names beginning with A through E, arrive at 12pm; F through J, arrive at 12:30pm; K through O, arrive at 1pm; P through S, arrive at 1:30pm: and T through Z, arrive at 2:00pm. This should help us better balance the flow of traffic.
