SUPPORT LOCAL

The Grey Highlands Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be taking part in a County-wide Support Local campaign, the result of a collaboration between eight Chambers and Municipalities that will run through January.

You might be hearing our radio ads now, will start seeing our posters in store and restaurant windows this week, and will enjoy contests, promotions, and special offers soon encouraging you to support local when you make your spending decisions.

Stores, restaurants, and businesses have done their best to stay open through COVID, and be there for their community. They’re a big part of what makes this community a great place to live. Now, it’s time to take care of them.

HOSPITAL CAMPAIGN LAUNCH

On October 16, you’re invited to the official launch of the “Together in Care” campaign for the new Markdale hospital, which will take place at the Municipality parking lot. Find out more details at togetherincare.com.

FALL FARE

Midday Saturday, head to Flesherton to enjoy the Flesherton & District Farmers’ Market Fall “Fare” – the Market’s grand finale!

40+ vendors will delight you with great gift ideas, locally grown/produced meats, cheeses, honey, wool and leather goods, homemade jams, baked treats, hand-crafted wood products, and much more. Add to that live music and hot food, and you’ve got a recipe for fall fun.

50/50 DRAW

Support your Chamber! We’ve printed 500 tickets for a 50/50 draw, with the winning ticket to be drawn at our Annual General Meeting in November. Call or email the Office for current information on purchase locations including our Markdale Office. Someone’s going to have a nice Christmas shopping budget this year.

SHOP LOCAL, EXPLORE LOCAL

This week, we explore Osprey.

Did you know…

Osprey got its name not from the bird, but from one of Admiral Collingwood’s sailing ships.

Feversham was founded during the 1850s and was originally called Hungry Hollow.

Maxwell was founded around 1860 and was originally called Charleston.

The Chamber has a driving tour of Osprey that you can pick up from our Office, and from various tourism ambassadors around the municipality, including Highland Grounds in Flesherton and The Market Shoppe and Brilliant Bread in Markdale.
