It’s a busy week for the Chamber of Commerce, co-hosting an all candidates meeting on Tuesday, holding our monthly networking session on Wednesday (open to ALL businesspeople in Grey Highlands), gathering for our monthly Board meeting on Thursday (all Members and interested Members are welcome as silent guests), and then…

On the morning of Friday, Sept. 17, members of our municipal council, MPP Bill Walker, and the Federal election candidates will visit us in Markdale to celebrate the grand opening of four businesses and the birthdays of two others.

We invite you to join with us as we show support for these valuable additions to our business community. We’ll gather on Markdale’s southeast corner at 10:30 a.m., starting at Jason Todoroff, Barrister & Solicitor, then proceeding west to Bite Rite Denture Clinic & Implant Solutions, Brilliant Bread, and Cannabis Stop.

Next we’ll head to Susan’s Delicatessen to celebrate its first birthday, and return back to The Market Shoppe to celebrate its 8th.

For the next four months or so, our Office hours are changing slightly. We will be open our usual Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 3, and possibly adding on a few hours later on Wednesday afternoon. Please reach out if you’d like to take advantage of our extended hours on Wednesday, so ensure I’ll be around.

This week, we explore Kimberley.

Did you know…

Kimberley is in the Beaver Valley, which is part of the Niagara Escarpment—a UNESCO Biosphere reserve since 1990. TripAdvisor.com lists Webwood Falls Nature Reserve and Old Baldy Conservation Area among Kimberley’s top outdoor attractions.

Kimberley has retained many of its original buildings, and hence its old town charm.

The Chamber has a walking tour of Kimberley that you can pick up from our Office, and from various tourism ambassadors around the municipality.

The Chamber supports these Kimberley businesses: Justin’s Oven, Kimberley General Store, O’Donnell Enterprises, and Sea & Ski Realty (Kimberley Office).

We’re pleased to have them as Members and support the success. Learn more about them by visiting the Chamber’s Online Business Directory, which will be available in print next spring.
Want to be one of the businesses we support? Email or call to find out more about the Chamber.

Cannabis Stop Inc. (Chamber Business Directory, Website) of Markdale is a locally owned and operated cannabis dispensary boasting a carefully curated, hand-picked collection of cannabis products ranging from flower to concentrates and everything in between. Knowledgeable staff has undergone exclusive training and is committed to assisting consumers to make informed decisions.

Marilynne Restaurant (Chamber Business Directory, Facebook, Website) will be opening in Markdale in October, offering morning coffee and farm-focused lunch and dinner dining. We wait excitedly for this new experience in the old fire hall. The owners are eager to hire staff, and intend to impart their culinary knowledge and provide staff with solid skills.
